Do I need to provide my own car for driving lessons?

  • No. We provide the vehicle equipped with dual side brake for all Behind-the-wheel lessons.  

How many driving lessons do I need?

  • Beginning Driver Package: 8 lessons.

  • Driven and not comfortable driving: 8 lessons Package is recommended.  

  • Intermediate Driver Package 4 lessons. 

  • Driven and is comfortable driving in traffic: 4 lessons Package is recommended.  

  • Experienced Driver Lesson/The student-driver is comfortable driving in heavy traffic at high speeds and able to safely execute lane changes: This student’s main focus is only on preparing to pass the Florida State Driving Exam. One (1) Lesson is recommended for student drivers wanting to practice driving in heavy traffic and/or preparing to pass The Florida State Driving Exam.

​Will I always have the same instructor?

  • ​Yes. Jesse Walter currently does all behind-the-wheel driving lessons at Costal Safety Driving School.

  •  All instructors are State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Commercial Driving School Instructor Certified.

How do I book or schedule a lesson?

  • Call to schedule your appointment. 
     

What days and times are you open?

  • We offer behind the wheel driving lessons 7 days a week. Online classes will be available soon.

 

What kind of cars do you use?

  • We offer behind-the-wheel lessons in a Mazda 3 that is equipped with a dual side instructor brake.

What are the requirements to get a Florida driver’s license?

  • Successful pass on the “behind-the-wheel” Florida State Driving Exam with a grade of 70 or better out of 100 points.

  • If you do not currently possess a learner's permit you also need to complete the 4-Hour Beginner Driver Course (available soon under courses) and pass the written road signs and rules Permit exam. You must get 40 answers correct before you get 10 wrong answers. If you're over 18 years of age you will need to make an appointment at the DMV to take the permit exam in person (not available online for students over 18).

 

Will I get an insurance discount for completing your lessons?

  • We offer an online insurance discount course however please check with your insurance provider BEFORE purchasing as not all insurance providers honor the online course. 
     

Do you have a payment plan?

  • No. Payment in full is due at time of scheduling.
     

Can a student miss any classes?

  • We require a 24-hour cancellation notice prior to the booking in order for you not to be charged for the lesson. All canceled lessons before 24 hours will be able to reschedule at no additional cost.
     

How do I cancel an appointment?

  • Call or text 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson in order to not be charged for the booking.
